The Valencia Marathon, also known as the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, has established itself, both nationally and internationally, as one of the most important sporting events in the capital of the Turia. It has been held every year since March 29, 1981, when the first edition of the 42k took place in Valencia. That first edition was followed by 30 more, starting at the Paseo de la Alameda. A year later, when it was the 31st edition, in 2011, the Sociedad Deportiva Correcaminos partnered with the City Council of Valencia to place the Marathon in Valencia as a very marked date at international level.
After that year, there have been changes in the circuit, dates and concept, creating what is now known as the fastest foot race in the world. A milestone for Spanish and international athletics.
During the Valencia 42k, participants can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city. However, this sporting experience is not only limited to the race. Valencia is a city full of charming corners, many years of history and great cultural richness.
