The fastest 15K in Spain

The 15K Nocturna Valencia isn’t just a popular running party, it’s also an internationally rated race, included in the World Athletics calendar and the RFEA’s National Calendar. In fact, it holds the all-time best mark for the 15K distance on Spanish soil: Kenya’s Abel Kipchumba stopped the clock at 41:55 and Ethiopia’s Zeineba Yimer at 46:52, both set in 2019 and, at the time, also the best world marks of the year over this distance.

The race has also drawn athletes from other sports: in the 2024 edition, triple triathlon world champion Mario Mola ran it as his first race on Valencian soil after joining a local athletics club. A good example of why this race has earned its place on the international sporting calendar, well beyond being just a local favourite.

The race also has a charitable side: at registration, runners can make a contribution to Cruz Roja Valencia (the Spanish Red Cross), the event’s official charity partner.
