Pre-Olympic Basketball 2024 in Valencia : Info and Accommodation
The Spanish national team will have to take part in this phase after being eliminated in the second round of the World Cup. The format of the competition will consist of 4 groups made up of 6 teams each. These 6 teams will be divided into A and B. The teams in each letter will play 2 matches, and the teams with the best results will advance to the semi-finals of their group. The winners of each group will win a place in the Olympic Games.
Who will be Spain's opponents in the Basketball Pre-Olympic 2024?
Spain will have to play against Angola and Lebanon. In the event of good results, the team would have to play in the semi-finals against Finland, Poland or Bahamas. These are high-level opponents, as they have several players in the NBA ranks.
Eight teams have already qualified for the Olympic Games: France, Serbia, Germany, Canada, USA, Japan, Australia and South Sudan.
This pre-Olympic will mean that several favourites, such as Greece and Slovenia, will be left out of the tournament.
Where will the 2024 Basketball Pre-Olympic games be held?
The matches of the Spanish Basketball National Team will take place at the Fuente San Luis Pavilion, colloquially known as "La Fonteta" between the 2nd and 7th of July.
These will be the last big games to take place in the mythical pavilion before the opening of the new Roig Arena, which will host all the big games from 2025 onwards.
La Fonteta currently has a capacity of 8,500 spectators.
