Church of San Nicolás in Valencia: Timetables and prices

San Nicolás, known as the Sistine Chapel of Valencia, is one of the oldest parishes in Valencia, with more than 700 years of history. Originally a Gothic temple, it was renovated in the 17th century, when its vaults were completely rebuilt and the frescoes were decorated with impressive Baroque ornamentation. This magnificent church, which leaves all its visitors speechless, is a true historical and artistic treasure.

The parish has winter and summer opening hours, although these may change due to liturgical celebrations or other events. Any changes will be announced in advance in their agenda. Regardless of the month you visit, on Mondays you can only enter the church to worship. In San Nicolás you can take a free tour or a guided tour with your own audio guide, depending on your preference.

From July to September (summer time):

  • Mondays are closed to tourists
  • From Tuesday to Friday: from 10:30 a.m. to 20:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays: from 10:00 to 19:30.
  • Sundays: from 13:00 p.m. to 20:30 p.m.

From October to June (winter time):

  • Mondays are closed to tourists
  • From Tuesday to Friday: from 10:30 a.m. to 19:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays: from 10:00 to 18:30.
  • Sundays: from 13:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m.

How to get to San Nicolas

To get to the church of San Nicolás from Plaza de la Reina, you can take the C1 bus line and get off at the Torres de Serranos stop, where several bus lines converge. From there, you walk west along Caballeros Street until you reach number 35, which is the general access point for tourists visiting the church.

If you prefer to use the metro or tram, you can take line 4 and get off at Pont de Fusta stop, from where you can also walk west along the same street to number 35. Metro lines 3 and 5 also stop at Metro Colón, from where a short walk will take you to the church of San Nicolás. Its location is close to other attractive points of interest in the centre of Valencia

Rules for entering to the parish

No bulky objects are allowed and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Both Individuals and groups must enter through Caballeros Street, number 35, and groups must make an appointment in advance.

Schedules and itineraries are subject to change and capacity may be limited for safety reasons. Respectful behaviour is expected, with low voices, silent phones and appropriate clothing. Non-flash photography and video are permitted, but food and drink are not allowed inside. It is advisable to plan your visit in advance and to respect the established schedules, with the possibility of cancelling with a partial refund if done on the same day.
