The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is once again organising the world's greatest tennis competition, where selected players from each nation compete to represent their country. The first Davis Cup tournament was held in 1900 and has been an annual event ever since. In 2019, the format of the Tennis World Cup has changed. It now lasts one week and is held in a city chosen by draw in November.
Eighteen nations have qualified for this final stage. They include the four semi-finalists from the previous edition, two countries invited by the ITF and 12 remaining places for the winners of the qualifying stages held throughout the year in different parts of the world. In 2024, the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals will take place in four cities around the world, including Valencia, Bologna, Manchester and Zhuhai during the week of 10-15 September. Two teams from each group reach the last eight, which this year will be played at the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace in Málaga.
In Valencia, the group stage of the Group B final will be held at the San Luís Fountain Pavilion. The competition lasts six days. During this week, four of the sixteen best men's tennis teams will compete.
The Fuente de San Luís pavilion, where the group stages of the Davis Cup are held in Valencia, is also known as the "Fonteta de Sant Lluís" by Valencians. It is located on Avenida dels Germans Maristes, 16 in the Quatre Carreres district of Valencia. It can be reached by car, bus or taxi and is very close to the Valencia exit for Madrid or Alicante.
Every year, a huge crowd of fans, journalists and industry professionals enjoy one of the biggest international tennis tournaments in the world. All qualifying matches consist of two singles matches and one doubles match. All matches will be best of three tie-break sets.
